Swimming
Here at Northland Adaptive Recreation, we believe swimming is a life skill, and that all children are safer and happier when they learn the basics of water safety. No matter what their ability, everyone should be able to experience swimming. Our lessons focus on the basics of water and pool safety and recognize the challenges each of our swimmer’s face. Each participant will have a one-on- one volunteer as well as trained instructors helping with their lesson!
Come swim and splash with us in this safe and supportive environment.
Northland Adaptive Recreation Safety Instruction/Swimming Lesson Program is a partnership with the Hermantown YMCA geared towards youth participants. YMCA swim instructors and NAR volunteers offer instruction to accommodate youth living with a variety of disabilities. This may include those with physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and visual impairments.
